Dr. Adi Virmani graduated from Emory University with a B.S. degree in Biology, and he obtained his M.D. degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine. He went on to complete his Psychiatry residency training from Stony Brook University where he also served as Chief Resident of the consultation service in 2010. Dr. Virmani continued his Psychiatry training at Stony Brook where he received his fellowship in Geriatric Psychiatry, specializing in neuro-psychiatric disorders, which include dementia syndromes and the behavioral symptoms associated with these disorders. He also has expertise in treatment of depression, and anxiety spectrum disorders which include Panic Disorder, Agoraphobia, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, and OCD. Dr. Virmani is also part of the Psychiatry Consultation Liason service at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, where he supervises Psychiatry residents and fellows. He is Board Certified in General Psychiatry and Geriatric Psychiatry, and is a member of the American Psychiatric Association.
